The field
  • A good shot of most of the cars lined up for the GT championship race. I'm in last because they inverted the grid (happens every time I run and exceptional qualifying, Hey, wait, did everyone else know something I didn't?).

The front of the field

Chasing Brooke
  • I'm coming up hard on Brooke (the leader in every series I race in). This is just before the "bus stop" section and not a great place to pass.

Past Brooke
  • I've gotten past Brooke (doesn't happen too often).

The Pits
  • Here's #20 and #27 sitting in the pits just before a session. You can see Conroy getting suited up in the background. You can also see our two car trailer behind the #27. Notice the chin spoiler on #27. It didn't last long

The Spoiler is Toast
  • What happens when you go off into the grass at 70 mph, bouncing like a madman due to a very bumpy inside of the corner, blown struts and a bad line all at the same time.

I've been Porsched
  • Coming hard through a corner I was passed by a Porsche 928 on the outside and he turned in agressively. My tires weren't as wide as his, so he "assisted" me around the corner. My only cosolation is that Mazda body panels are cheaper the Porsche panels.

Fueling Up
  • Here's the new #20 at the local gas station getting fueled up. You can see Conroy walking by in the background

Lined Up
  • #30, #27 and #20 all lined up and ready to go.

Rolling Start
  • #20 qualified up front and started with the GT2 class cars

Rolling Start: part 2
  • #27 qualified first in the CC class. 1st in CC is still a way back in the field. You can see I'm all into the throttle while the #10 car is braking. He was right. I had to pile on the brakes just as they dropped the green.

Lapping the Slower Cars
  • #20 is going through the pack, lapping the slower clas cars.

The Rest of Us
  • #27 and #30 underway having both gotten past a very sweet looking Volvo.

Putting the Power Down
  • Here you can see #20 under full power. The turbo is spooled up and the car is squatting the rear hard. The rear springs are very stiff so #20 must be making some serious power.

27 takes 20
  • Under full power #27 screams past the slow, underpowered #20 Turbo II. Truthfully, Conroy is about to lap me (He's lucky he has that Turbo).

Checking the Wall
  • Wayne is trying a new line through the corner. Luckily he stopped his experiment before he met the wall .

Winter's effect on a header
  • The header is cracked in a few different locations. I will weld it up for now, but I plan to assemble a new header in the next few days

Another major crack
  • This just shows how much heat a rotary can actually put out. The header is made of some thick steel.

Helping Hands
  • Two friends helping out with the assembly of the new 12A and the installation.

Test and Tune
  • I took the car out for a day long test and tune at the Edmonton Garison. All things considered the car ran well.

Stock 12A Exhaust Port
  • Notice how small the port is

Roughed Exhaust Port
  • Notice how much larger the port is
  • Also Notice how much I have left to go to hit the template

Both Ports
  • Now you can really see the difference in size

Intake Port
  • Look at the size of the stock post compared to the template
